Booking a Vehicle:
• All bookings must be made online or by telephone or by visiting our office.
• To book a vehicle, we require:
• Name
• Address
• Contact telephone number
• Valid Credit/Debit card number to secure the booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the hire will result in a full hire amount charge. The advance payment is non-refundable.

Documents Required at Time of Hire:
• Driving Licence
• Recent utility bill to verify current address (Proof of new address required for address
changes)
• National Insurance Number (if applicable)

Payment:
• We accept all major credit and debit cards inc American Express
• Cash or cheques are not accepted (unless by prior arrangement).
Charges:
• Customers must provide payment to cover all estimated charges plus an advanced payment for insurance excess at the start of the rental.

Rental Rates Include:
• Maintenance
• Oil
• Comprehensive breakdown service

Rates do not include fuel.

Fuel Policy:
• Fuel must be returned at the same level as received.
• A charge may apply if the vehicle is returned with significantly less fuel.

Mileage Charges:
• Mileage charges apply for short period rentals.
• Allowance: 250 miles per day.
• Mileage charge: 10p per mile + VAT thereafter.

Insurance:
• All vehicles are covered by an extensive policy, unless the hirer chooses to use their
own insurance.
• Insurance excess: £500 for cars and £1000 for vans.
• Excess can be reduced by 50% for a small fee of £20 for cars and £30 for vans

Damage:
• Customers are responsible for any internal or external vehicle damage during the
rental period
• Damage above cab height is the hirer's liability for full repair costs.

Handling of Fines and Penalties

If any fines or penalties are incurred during the rental period, Bristol Car & Van Hire will pay these on behalf of the renter. The renter agrees to reimburse the company the full amount of the fine plus a handling fee of 25%. This handling fee covers the administrative costs and the VAT that the company must pay on these fines.

Driving Licence & Age Requirements:
• Valid driving licence required at every rental.
• Minimum driving experience: 24 months on a full licence.
• Minimum age: 25 years, maximum 74 years.
Non-UK Licence Holders: Minimum age 25.
MPV & Minibuses: Minimum age 30, maximum 74.

Breakdown:
• All vehicles covered by Full AA / RAC breakdown service.

Valeting Fee
If a hired vehicle is returned with excessive dirt or mud on the exterior, dirty or stained interior seats, carpets, or surfaces, spilled food or drinks, or strong odors (including signs of smoking or vaping), the renter will be required to pay for valeting. The charge is a minimum of £50, depending on the cost to restore the vehicle to its original condition.

Satnav Hire:
• Satellite navigation units available for £5 per day or £20 per week + VAT (reservation required).

Child Seats:
• Child seats & booster seats available for a small charge (subject to availability).
